SEGUIN, Texas (December 10, 2025) – Republican congressional candidate Josh Cortez (TX-35) issued the following statement after the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced it was adding Texas’ 35th Congressional District to its list of targeted seats for 2026.
“Democrats can put TX-35 on any list they want, but that doesn’t change the reality – our campaign is the clear frontrunner in this race and the one voters across this district are rallying behind,” said Josh Cortez. “If the DCCC thinks it can flip this seat, my message is simple: Come and Take It!”
Cortez emphasized that the newly drawn TX-35 is united by shared geography, economy, and values – and that voters recognize the strength of his conservative leadership and his commitment to stand with President Donald J. Trump.
“People in TX-35 know exactly what kind of leadership they want,” Cortez said. “They know I live here. They know I have the proven experience. They know I understand this region. And they know I will fight every day to put Texas First and stand with President Trump’s America First agenda.”
