Josh Cortez Surges Out of the Gate – Raises Over $160,000 in First Month of Campaign for Texas’ 35th Congressional District

October 8, 2025

SEGUIN, Texas (October 8, 2025) – Republican congressional candidate Josh Cortez announced today that his campaign raised over $160,000 in just four weeks since launching his bid for Congress in Texas’ 35th District. That equates to $40,000 per week, a strong early showing that establishes Cortez as the leading contender in the race.

“This early support shows that Texas is ready for new leadership that puts Texans and our Faith, Families, and our Future first,” said Cortez. “Our campaign is powered by people who believe in restoring common sense and standing strong for our region’s conservative values. I’m deeply grateful to everyone who’s stepped up to help us bring an America First voice to Washington.”

Cortez, an 8th-generation Texan from Guadalupe County, launched his campaign for the new 35th Congressional district drawn by the Texas Legislature, in late August with a message centered on defending faith, strengthening families, and protecting America’s future. He is an experienced Senior aide working for Texans in both the Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. He has also emphasized his support for President Donald Trump’s America First agenda, including securing the border, cutting reckless spending, and standing up to the Left’s radical woke ideology.

“The response we’ve seen across Bexar, Guadalupe, Karnes, and Wilson counties makes it clear that voters want an experienced fighter who knows their needs and shares their values and will put Texans First,” Cortez added.

Cortez’s strong fundraising total underscores growing enthusiasm for his campaign and positions him as the most competitive candidate in the district heading into 2026.
