SAN ANTONIO (December 22, 2025) – Conservative Republican congressional candidate Josh Cortez today announced that the Board of Directors of the True Texas Project voted unanimously, 7–0, in support of him in the race for the newly-drawn 35th Congressional District.

True Texas Project is a state-level political action committee and does not operate a federal PAC, making its involvement in congressional races rare. In TX-35, however, every board member eligible to weigh in on the race selected Cortez – a clear signal of confidence from conservative leaders known for their independence and high standards.

The newly-drawn district includes part of Bexar County and all of Guadalupe, Karnes, and Wilson Counties, uniting communities connected by shared values, economies, and a strong sense of Texas identity.

“A unanimous vote from leaders who don’t hand out support lightly says a lot,” Cortez said. “I’m honored to earn the confidence of the True Texas Project board and grateful for their recognition of the values our campaign stands for.”

True Texas Project publicly posts leadership vote tallies to provide voters with insight into how its board would decide if they lived in the district. The 7–0 vote in TX-35 reflects strong alignment between Cortez’s campaign and the conservative principles the organization advances statewide.
